Is Dubai tax-free?

Corporate tax for companies:
In Dubai, entrepreneurs can pay 0% tax under certain conditions. Different regulations apply depending on the type of company and tax residency. Since June 2023, new corporate tax rules apply for Mainland and Freezone companies.
Mainland companies:
Mainland companies in Dubai are subject to a corporate tax of 9%, which is levied on profits above AED 375,000.
Small Business Relief (SBR):
The Small & Medium Enterprise Business Relief (SBR) is available to both Mainland and Freezone businesses. Businesses with an annual turnover below AED 3,000,000 can benefit from this SBR. Registration for corporation tax and proof of turnover are required. This tax relief is limited until the end of 2026.
Freezone companies:
Freezone companies are also subject to 9% corporate tax on profits above AED 375,000. This rule applies to all income, regardless of whether it is derived from business within their free zone or abroad. Freezone companies can also make use of the SBR scheme and must meet the same requirements as Mainland companies.
Value Added Tax (VAT):
Dubai introduced value added tax (VAT) in January 2018, which is 5%. Companies in Dubai with an annual turnover of more than AED 375,000 are required to collect and remit VAT to the government. However, there are exemptions from VAT, such as certain food items or medicines.
